SpeedWatch has been designed to help the motorist stay in control. The unit audibly sounds a warning as well as flashing the set speed, once the selected level is exceeded. The audible warning can be adjusted up or down depending on the ambient noise in the vehicle. Two additional LEDs give the driver an indication whether he has selected MPH or KPH mode. The unit can also be operated in an alternative mode as a digital speedo, again with warnings given at selected speed levels.
Six separate speed levels can be set to the driver's choice. Each level is selected by an up or down button, just like a pre-selected tuning of a radio.
The often made complaint that "I can't watch the speedo and the road" is dealt with by use of SpeedWatch. The driver watches the road while SpeedWatch alerts the driver if he exceeds the limit.
New types of speed camera can see for up to three miles so any lapse of concentration over this distance could result in a fine and points.
Company operated vehicles are particularly vulnerable as the rep, service engineer or delivery driver usually drive many more miles than a private person. A company driver losing his or her licence means the loss of a valuable company asset and loss of company service.
Speedwatch is priced for the company driver and private motorist who just want help to maintain retention of their driving licence. SpeedWatch does just that - assists the driver to drive safely in speed controlled areas.
Should the driver wish to use their vehicle on the Continent, it is a simple matter to reprogram the unit to read in kilometres per hour and then reset it to miles per hour on return to the UK.
